Individual Community Living Support

WayStone Individual Community Living Support

At WayStone, we believe that living independently in the community is possible with the right support. Individual Community Living Support (ICLS) services are designed for adults who need help with daily activities but don’t require 24-hour care.

Whether you are a client exploring options, a family member wanting peace of mind, or a case manager building a support plan, WayStone is here to provide flexible, compassionate, and DHS-licensed ICLS services.

What Is ICLS?

Individual Community Living Support (ICLS) provides assistance and training to help adults stay independent, safe, and engaged in their homes and communities.

Services can include:

  • Health, safety & wellness support – reminders, daily check-ins, basic assistance with routines
  • Household management – light cleaning, laundry, meal preparation
  • Money management support – help with budgeting, bill paying, financial organization
  • Shopping & errands – planning lists, going to the store, transportation assistance
  • Community living skills – learning to use transportation, accessing community resources
  • Companionship & emotional support – preventing isolation and encouraging engagement

Who Can Receive ICLS?

ICLS is available for adults who:

  • Are 65 years or older or are 18+ with disabilities
  • Need help with daily tasks but do not require 24-hour supervision
  • Live in their own home, family home, or other community-based settings
  • Receive services through Elderly Waiver (EW) or Alternative Care (AC) Program

FAQs About The Service

ICLS provides friendly, reliable support for adults who need assistance with daily activities, social engagement, and companionship—helping clients maintain independence, comfort, and quality of life at home.

How is ICLS different from Homemaking or IHS?
Homemaking focuses on completing household tasks.
IHS (Individualized Home Supports) focuses on skill-building and independence training.
ICLS provides a blend of support, assistance, and training — especially for seniors and adults who need ongoing but not 24-hour help.
Who pays for ICLS?
ICLS is typically funded through Elderly Waiver (EW), Alternative Care (AC), or Medical Assistance (MA) programs.
Can I get ICLS if I live with family?
Yes — ICLS can be provided in your own home, a family home, or other community settings.
Does ICLS include 24-hour support?
No — ICLS is designed for people who don’t need full-time care. If 24-hour supervision is needed, other services may be a better fit.
